EMMONS — It may be spring finally, but a little bit of winter will be coming to Glenville-Emmons High School this weekend.

The high school, at 230 Fifth St. SE in Glenville, will have its prom on Saturday. The grand march will take place at 7 p.m., followed by the dance afterward, with both events taking place inside of the high school. The theme will be “A Winter Wonderland,” according to Jillian Westrum, the school’s prom adviser. Decorations will be blue, white, silver and gold, and there will be a winter forest scene.

Following the dance, there will be a post prom party at the elementary school going into the early hours of the morning. The party will have inflatable games and an obstacle course, among other activities.

All seniors and juniors at the high school can attend the dance, and underclassmen are allowed if they’ve been asked by upperclassmen. Tickets are $25 for couples and $12.50 for individuals.

Westrum said that other funding for the prom festivities are paid for through fundraising the students start doing as early as seventh grade, as well as through some concession stand sales. She also said that Minnesota Corrugated Box donated cardboard that was used to make the prom’s decorations, which also helped to save money.
