Interesting editorials reprinted the last couple of days in the Tribune.

One defends governor Dayton for spending the billion dollars in overpaid taxes rather than giving it back to taxpayers. Reasoning is that we need to increase government spending so we can spend the excess tax dollars this year and increase the government budget so it will eat up any future funds, and in their view cause the need for more tax increases. They are asking for a 16-cent gas tax increase are they not?

The next day they blame politics on proposed changes to state aid to cities. How do you suppose the Democratic strong hold cities got such a good deal in the first place? Politics seems to only be a problem if Republicans are involved.
