CRYSTAL — Several hundred people gathered near the Mississippi River in Crystal to remember 10-year-old Barway Collins.
He’s the boy whose body was found in the river last week after he had been missing since March 18. Many of those who came to remember Barway Sunday afternoon had helped search for the boy. Gatherers sang songs and dropped white roses in the water at North Mississippi Regional Park.
The memorial service was organized by a group that searched for Barway. His father, Pierre Collins, has been charged with second-degree murder in his son’s death.
