Project: Wilderness North Repairs and Maintenance

Report: After 25 years of use, the Tentmakers’ retreat on Murphy Lake north of Duluth, Wilderness North, is in need of repairs. Wilderness North has seen thousands of pastors, church groups, high school students, teachers, families and individuals.

For the past few years, Tentmakers has been addressing:

• Building new tent platforms for Leadership Quest campers and leaders, which is 35 percent completed

• Repairing and rebuilding boardwalk in main campus area, which is 50 percent completed

• New picnic tables in outdoor dining area, on the waterfront and in the training bubble; five have been built

• Resurfacing forest pathways, 50 percent completed

• De-rocking roadways, 75 percent completed

• Completing the newly constructed RV area for long-term guests and visitors

• Making exterior and foundation repairs to the mentor/guest house, which is 10 percent completed

• Painting, staining and leveling some Old and New Testament cabins, which is 50 percent completed

• Re-roofing the three main campus buildings with steel roofs, which is 10 percent completed

• Installing a small sauna for Old Testament cabins on the North Ridge
