With the April 15 tax filing deadline just around the corner, I want to thank Albert Lea Rep. Peggy Bennett for her support of the tax conformity bill, House File 6, earlier this session.

Thanks to her vote, and the broad bipartisan support this bill received, families will be able to take advantage of nearly $20 million in tax relief thanks to deductions for things like higher education tuition, mortgage insurance premiums and teachers being able to use a deduction for classroom expenses.

Rep. Bennett has been hard at work for Minnesota taxpayers since she arrived in Saint Paul, and thanks to her vote, is helping thousands of families across the state keep more of their hard-earned money this tax season.
