United Methodist Church to host seminar on Jesus, culture

The seminar “Jesus in the First and 21st Centuries” will be Friday and April 25 at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea.
Scholars Glenna Jackson and Perry Kea will present the seminar. The seminar focuses on the relevance of Jesus in modern culture.
There will be five lectures in the seminar. “From Nazareth to Nicaea” will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, “What is the Kingdom of God?” will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on April 25, “God’s Kingdom in Africa” will be from 11 a.m. to noon on April 25, “On the Edge of Smash” will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. April 25 and “Is there a future for the Historical Jesus?” will be from 3 to 4 p.m. on April 25.
To attend all five lectures, the individual rate is $60. Additional family members are $50. For single sessions, Friday evening’s lecture is $20, The April 25 morning workshop is $30 and the April 25 evening workshop is $30.
