Albert Lea Civic Music announces the 2014-2015 music scholarship recital. The recital is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea.
Students receiving a scholarship for the 2014-2015 year will be showcased with music selections played on their instrument of choice. Each year Civic Music students audition for Jerdet Summer Music Camp scholarships, college music scholarships and the Helen Wipplinger Piano and Organ scholarships.
Students participating in this year’s recital for summer music camp scholarships include Morgan Phillips, Josh Englin, Grace Chalmers, Madeline Phillips, Anna Englin, Emma Behling and Abby Sencio; Maria Silvas is participating for a college scholarship; and Lauren Wetzel, Tyra Johnson and Melody Randall are participating for the Wipplinger Piano or Organ scholarship.
Each student has studied their instrument and has spent many hours practicing to improve their skills. This concert is free and open to the public.
