A.L. man arrested after slashing officer

Mason City police arrested an Albert Lea man early Sunday morning after he allegedly slashed an officer’s face.
Teague Miller, 24, was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and is facing charges of interfering with official acts while inflicting a serious injury.
According to a news release, police were attempting to arrest Miller at the time of the alleged slashing.
The release stated police received a report at 12:17 a.m. Sunday that a man was staggering down the middle of the highway. They found Miller in the 1000 block of Fourth Street SW and recognized him after receiving multiple complaints about him in the previous 72 hours.
When officers approached him, he reportedly fled west on foot. Officers ultimately caught him in the 1500 block of the street. The press release stated Miller used an “improvised weapon” to slash at the officer. Officers used a Taser to subdue him.
