Sam Ware, a junior percussionist at Albert Lea High School, has been chosen for the 2015-16 All-State Orchestra. Each year, hundreds of students across the state audition for spots in the All-State Band, Choir and Orchestra. Ware also made All-State Band last year. Two ALHS students were also named alternates for 2015-16. Kayla Overland is an alternate trombone player and Travis Nemic is an alternate choir member.

The All-State Orchestra students receive their music in early summer and prepare individually for a camp, which will be from Aug. 3 to Aug. 8 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. The orchestra will be conducted by Mark Russell Smith from the University of Minnesota. Following a concert on Aug. 8, the students assemble again in February 2016 at Orchestra Hall to present their programs for the Minnesota Music Educators Mid-Winter Conference.

Ware and Overland are students of ALHS Band Director Suzanne Mauer, and Nemic is a student of ALHS Choir Director Diane Heaney.
