Alden woman injured in crash north of Walters

WALTERS — An Alden woman was injured Friday afternoon after a truck reportedly failed to yield at an intersection and collided with her car north of Walters.

Claudia Jean Cunningham was transported from the scene by Mayo One helicopter to a Rochester hospital.

According to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place at 1:55 p.m. at the intersection of Faribault County Road 31 and 130th Street.

Erik Roger Bangert of Albert Lea was traveling east on 130th Street when the truck he was driving struck a Toyota sedan driven by Cunningham.

Cunningham was traveling northbound through the intersection on Faribault County Road 31 when Bangert failed to yield and collided with Cunningham’s vehicle.

Bangert was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office stated the crash is still under investigation.

Assisting the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Wells Police Department, Wells Fire Department, Walters Fire Department and Wells Ambulance.
