Arling Larson, 1923-2015

Funeral services for Arling Jewell Larson, 92, of Emmons will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at  Emmons Lutheran Church. The Rev. Christopher Martin will officiate. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery west of Emmons. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Arling died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at St John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.

Arling Jewell was born May 31, 1923, to Henry Larson and Rose (Olson) Larson. Arling grew up in the Emmons area where he farmed and worked at Streater in Albert Lea — where he retired from in 1988.

On April 28, 1944, Arling was united in marriage to Madeline Corrina Peterson at Mansfield Lutheran Church.

Survivors include their children Wayne (Amy) Larson of Albert Lea, Allan (Linda) Larson of Lake Mills and Gary (Cathy) Larson of Ramsey; grandchildren Racheal Larson, Brian (Annette) Larson, Bruce Larson, Trisha Larson, LuAnn (Kyle) Mannes, Pamela (Jeremy) Ballard and Cindy (Brian) Ripsin; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Arlene Schreiber and Deloris Hemmingsen; and brother-in-law, Roland Toenges.

Arling was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Rose; wife, Madeline, in 1990; sister-in-law, Perneal Toenges; and brothers-in-law Dale Hemmingsen and Jerry Schreiber.
