Memorial services for Clayton “Mike” Merle Thompson, 75, of Albert Lea will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bethany Hall at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Mike died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.

Clayton “Mike” Merle Thompson was born July 9, 1939, in Albert Lea, the son of Carl and Mabel (Halvorson) Thompson. On Aug. 19, 1994, Mike was united in marriage to Judith Hanson in Albert Lea. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing and spending time with his family. Mike loved his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children Susan (Bradley) VanRyswyk, Kenneth (Lori) Thompson and Cindy (Gregory) VanRyswk; stepchildren Lowell Helmers and Bradley (Jennifer Lovelace) Helmers; grandchildren Grant VanRyswyk, Amanda VanRyswyk, Krystal (Bryan) Gravelle, Kimberly (Jake) Sullivan, Courtney Thompson and Brody VanRyswyk; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Mason, Alyvia, Laycie and Finnley; siblings Doris Trustem, Shirley Larson, Ray Thompson and Lawrence Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Margie, Helen, Robert and Mary.
