James A. Mowers, 62, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, at a nursing facility in El Cajon, California.

A memorial service will be at a later date and a private burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Northwood.

After high school he was in the United States Navy for seven years. He was confirmed in Ellendale Methodist Church and was an inactive member since that time. After his military service he had setbacks in his health for years.

He is survived by his father, Dale Mowers; sisters Judith (Howard) Lestrud and Cynthia (Darrell) Hansen; brothers Curtis (Gail) Mowers and Craig (Karen) Mowers; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Mowers; and niece, Tammy Lestrud.
