The public is invited to an information meeting to learn more about a mill and overlay project on Highway 65 in Albert Lea, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The $5.3 million project will be discussed from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Albert Lea Council Chambers, 221 E. Clark St. in Albert Lea.
Representatives from the contractor, Ulland Brothers, as well as MnDOT will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project, timelines and detour.
Construction is expected to begin July 6 and be completed in early October. The resurfacing project will also include replacement of the sidewalk and driveway approaches within the project limits, guardrail replacements, storm sewer and culvert repairs and sidewalk improvements. Brick pavers, trees, tree grates and decorative street lighting are part of the project from Front Street to Main Street.
The project on Highway 65 runs from Highway 13 south to a half mile past Interstate 35.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
