The United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women met on June 3. JoAnn Sueser of Martha Circle introduced speakers Paul Larson and Larry Hopkey who presented a program explaining the purpose of the investment club. The club’s goal is to provide club members the joy of learning and experiencing how the stock market works and investing into individual securities. At the same time, the club tithes 10 percent of its earnings to the church.
President Jerry Horswell opened the meeting with a prayer and thanked Martha Circle for the program — and Just 3 Circle for serving.
The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were given by Sueser. Circle attendance was reported and correspondence was read. The group agreed to give a donation to REACT.
Adean Turner, spiritual growth person, read scripture and several thoughts on Father’s Day. Social action person Sharon Nelson spoke of remembering people with memory issues.
Norieta Rippentrop and Turner thanked members for their cards and memorials at the time of family members’ deaths.
The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The coffee time will begain at 9:30 a.m. with the program by Hope Circle following at 10 a.m.
