Boy hit by lightning meets rescuers

DULUTH — A 12-year-old boy who was hit by lightning in Duluth has returned to the golf course where he was struck to thank first responders who worked to save him.
According to police, Nathan Burke was critically injured June 28 by lightning at Enger Park Golf Course. His mother, Wendy Burke, said his hair was scorched by the lightning strike and he had burns on his stomach.
According to a reports he was in the hospital until July 1. The boy and his mother were at the golf course Wednesday along with dozens of other people.
Wendy Burke said her son wouldn’t be alive without the efforts of first responders.
