City asks public to be safe when preparing for today’s parade

The yearly tradition of people putting chairs and blankets out along the parade route has brought some safety concerns.
It is unlawful to put chairs and blankets on sidewalks or on the curb. It creates a hazard for people who are walking or biking. Any chairs or blankets found on sidewalks will be moved into the grassy area. Also, please do not stake out and rope off sections of public property to reserve your space. The city of Albert Lea thanks you for your cooperation and hopes that you have a safe and happy Independence Day weekend.
