To the groundbreaking of the Wedgewood Cove Townhomes.
By late fall or early winter, Albert Lea will be home to 30 new market-rate rental townhomes adjacent to the Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.
It is exciting to see any kind of development in the city, but we hope these new homes, particularly, will help attract and retain young professionals to our city.
Officials have said the townhomes are the first market-rate construction added to Albert Lea in over 30 years.
To the organizers of all of the Fourth of July festivities in Albert Lea.
Whether you’re young or old, there’s always lots of activities to enjoy in the city during the Fourth of July. There are concerts, the parade, a ski show, a car show and fireworks, to name a few.
Thanks to all of the organizers who have taken time out to plan these events and to make this a wonderful city to live in. It’s one of the best times of the year to be an Albert Lean.
To the unfortunate timing of the start of the Lakeview Boulevard construction.
While we agree with the need for construction on Lakeview Boulevard, we wish the project could have started a week later to better accommodate all of the residents and visitors who are utilizing Fountain Lake this weekend. The city has stated pedestrian access to dock spaces along Fountain Lake is maintained, but getting around back there is much more inconvenient.
To the alternative options for 4-H’ers showing poultry at the Freeborn County Fair.
It’s unfortunate that no live poultry will be at the Freeborn County Fair, but the 4-H coordinators have come up with a solution so 4-H’ers can still participate and go off to the Minnesota State Fair.
Instead of showing live birds, 4-H’ers will do alternative projects like a poultry exhibit and a demonstration as well as using a stuffed chicken for the showmanship show. There are five areas in total, and the top three winners in each area will get points. The top five 4-H’ers with the most points will get to go to the state fair.
We applaud the 4-H coordinators for coming up with an alternative solution, and wish all 4-H’ers participating in the poultry exhibit at the county fair good luck.
