Thanks for help with Chamber event

On behalf of the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber Ambassadors, we would like to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to another successful Chamber Golf Outing.  This year we had 24 teams participate in the event.  The golf outing was held July 20 and is our largest fundraiser.  The funds are used to award six $1000 scholarships to students in the county.  Of the six, five are awarded to area seniors graduating high school and one awarded to a student at Riverland Community College.

Our first thank you goes to Jeff Elseth and his staff at Green Lea Golf Course.  The time and effort it takes to set up a successful tournament is burdensome and they did a fantastic job.

Next we would like to thank all of the hole and green sponsors this year, in no particular order:  The Albert Lea Tribune, Home Federal, Security Bank, Farmers State Bank, Alliance Benefit Group, U.S. Bank, Freeborn Lumber, Dave Syverson’s, Vern Eide, BeMobile, Iron Skillet/Skol Tavern, Manufacturers Bank and Trust Company, Albert Lea Bus Company, Minnesota Energy Resources, Motor Inn Company, Complete Realty, Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Albert Lea and Austin, Accentra Credit Union, Home Solutions, State Farm – Randy Cirksena, ISC Financial Advisors, Wells Federal, American Family – Cliff Wuerflien Agency, Geneva Bar & Grill, Leland Realty, Eaton Sport & Spine Clinic, Advanced Family Dental, Cafourek Insurance Agency, Edward Jones – Andrew Irvine, Minnesota Freezer Warehouse, Albert Lea Select Foods, Granicrete – Tom and Jean Eaton, Peterson, Kolker, Haedt & Benda Ltd, The Marketing Plant, Signature Real Estate and Lembke Construction.  Numerous businesses also donated gifts for each golfer.

The kegs were donated by:  Cheers Liquor, Geneva Bar & Grill, Liquor Depot and Eastside Liquor.  Water was donated by Cafourek Insurance Agency.  Ice was donated by Hy-Vee.  The pork chop dinner was served by the Pork Producers along with salads donated by Mrs. Gerry’s.

Last but not least, we would like to thank the Chamber staff as well as all of the Ambassadors that put a lot of time into making this event happen.

Without all of the community support, Chamber support and Ambassador support, we would not be able to offer these scholarships.  Again, thank you all for your generous donations!

We hope all the participants enjoyed the wonderful golf and even better weather that we had that day.  We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

Thanks,

Jon Murray
