GARDEN CITY — An acquaintance said the two people who died in a car accident in southern Minnesota had just left a county fair before they were killed.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported 74-year old Roderick Elbertand his passenger, 75-year old Kathy Ohman, both of North Mankato, died at the scene of the accident near Garden City Thursday.

A spokesman at the Vine Adult Community Center said Ohman had performed with the Stompers dance group at the Blue Earth County Fair and the two were leaving the area when they were killed.

Their car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 169 and County Road 9. The 18-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.
