MINNEAPOLIS — University of Minnesota police have arrested a suspect a day after a suspicious bag led to the closure and search of the main student union on the Minneapolis campus.
Police said a person believed to be responsible for the incident was arrested Tuesday morning and is being held at the Hennepin County jail pending charges. The announcement gave no further information about the arrest.
Police were called to Coffman Memorial Union on the East Bank campus in Minneapolis late Sunday on a report of a suspicious bag. They kept the building closed all day to allow for a thorough search.
While authorities said Monday that the bag turned out to pose no safety concerns, they have not said what was in it.
