Editorial: Thanks for relying on us for the news

Every day we strive to make the Tribune a trusted news source, so it was rewarding on Monday to see the results of a city survey that showed that more Albert Lea residents rely on the newspaper than any other form of media as a source of information about the city.
The National Citizen Survey results showed that 89 percent of the 448 people surveyed look to the newspaper as either a major or minor source of information, ahead of local radio and television stations, word of mouth, the community newsletter, the city website, the city’s social media sites and the government access channel. Of that number, 55 percent viewed the Tribune as a major source.
This was in front of the radio with 53 percent, word of mouth with 44 percent and TV with 48 percent.
We appreciate the community’s commitment to the newspaper and for the role you play in making it something residents can be proud of.
Thank you for your continued support.
