The Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee will be in Albert Lea on Wednesday to hear a request for bonding dollars for a project at Riverland Community College.
The committee, which is chaired by Rep. Paul Torkelson, R-Hanska, will tour the college’s Albert Lea campus, along with District 27A Rep. Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea.
The committee tours the state every two years to see requests; traditionally, most bonding allocations are made during the even year of a legislative biennium.
On Tuesday, the House Agriculture Finance Committee and the House Agriculture Policy Committee will be in the area to have a joint tour of the Renewable Energy Group biodiesel refinery south of Albert Lea.
Bennett will also be in attendance during this visit.
