Landline phone service is restored in the Alden area, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

A press release stated Frontier Communications informed the Sheriff’s Office that a fiber optic line had been cut in a neighboring county, in turn affecting the Alden area.

People were encouraged to use their cell phones to access 911 communications or contact the Alden Police Chief.
