EDINA — A man shot by police in Edina is improving.

According to a press release, the man was upgraded to serious but stable condition at Hennepin County Medical Center. He was reported in critical condition Saturday.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating but would not release any new information Sunday. Spokeswoman Lisa Kiava said more information will be available in the coming days.

The shooting happened just after 10:30 a.m. Saturday inside a condo unit after police were sent to check the welfare of the man who had reportedly had been acting in a threatening manner.

The man allegedly displayed some sort of weapon before he was shot.
