St. John’s Auxiliary
St. John’s Auxiliary met at 10:30 a.m. July 20 in St. John’s chapel. President Jan Jerdee welcomed everyone. The group sang “America the Beautiful” accompanied by Irene Goskeson.
The secretary’s report was given by reading the minutes of the June meeting. LeAnn Knutson gave the treasurer’s report. The reports were approved.
Volunteer Coordinator Carla Reichel reported that there were 890 volunteer hours for June including15 Day Care hours, one You & Me Club and two sing-alongs.
Activities Director Shirley Leeman gave the scheduled activities for August as follows: 4- L.A. Sasse, 5- County Fair, 7- Hans the Accordian Man, 8- Dunnell Lenort, 12- Wind Down Wednesday, 13- Chris Von Arx music, 14- Dave Hudson music, 17 & 20- Pelican Breeze cruises, 21- Debbie Nordland, 28- music by Kent Larson. In addition, all of the regular monthly activities will take place.
Vice President Les Harmon read the names of residents celebrating July birthdays and everyone sang the birthday song.
Churches thanked for serving Sunday coffee were Salem, First Lutheran, Glenville and Dietary St. Johns.
The program was provided by Jerdee and was about the history of county schools. She shared her experiences in Country School District 84. She also gave the rules for teachers in the 1800s and 1900s.
The meeting was adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer and the table blessing was sung.
