Deputies observed a person with a large amount of drugs at 12:38 a.m. Friday at Harmony Park. The suspect took off on foot wearing a yellow shoulder patch. An officer called for assistance with the pursuit due to the large amount of tents and people. No suspects were recovered, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

There were 13 other drug violations that involved marijuana that were reported to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office this weekend that resulted in warnings.

Deputies took a pro-active approach in finding the drugs, said Kurt Freitag, Freeborn County sheriff.

“There were more than 3,000 people there,” he said. “When you take a look at how many people were out there, compared to citations written, it’s not a lot. When so many people are attending the event, there’s bound to be a few caught.”
