Authorities have not released much further information about a man who died from an apparent gunshot wound early Thursday morning on Academy Avenue.

Albert Lea police on Thursday evening said the house, at 1510 Academy Ave., had been released back to the family, but the investigation was ongoing.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was at the house for several hours Thursday.

Police were dispatched to the house for a report of a medical incident and found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police have stated there does not appear to be any threats to the public.
