Milt Ost, author of two books in the “Tumbleweeds Burning” series, will host a book signing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Albert Lea Library, according to a press release.
The event is part of the Friends of Library program which will be in the city council chambers.
Ost’s “Tumbleweed” series, is a five-generation family saga telling the story of the Germans from Russia in historical novel form. It follows the Oster family who are invited by Czarina Catherine to leave their home in Germany and imigrate to Russia.
For a time life in this strange land is good, but soon their welcome comes to bitter persecution and they flee to America. In their new home in the American heartland they are free, but experience soul wrenching pain from natural disasters, depression and the effects of world-wide conflict.
Their enduring faith and strong wills stand them in good stead as they persevere and help turn the American Midwest into the breadbasket of the world.
