Margaret Jensen, 1917-2015

Memorial services for Margaret A. Jensen, 98, of Albert Lea and formerly of Owatonna, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Margaret died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Community.
Margaret Alpha Jensen was born on Aug. 5, 1917, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Elmore J. and Hulda (Calvin) Olson. She grew up here and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1935. She then attended Mankato Business School. On Dec. 26, 1941, Margaret was united in marriage to Earl N. Jensen in Albert Lea. They farmed together in Blooming Prairie and also lived in St. Peter, Owatonna and Albert Lea. Margaret was a member of various Lutheran churches in the communities where she lived. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and going fishing with her husband. She loved visiting with her sisters.
Margaret is survived by her children Bruce (Donalie) Jensen and Wayne Jensen; grandchildren Penny, Emily, Kimberly, Christopher and Kelly; great-grandchildren Zackary, Bethany, Douglous, Madison, Coltan and Jordan; and great-great-grandchildren Josiah, Braxton, Trae, Astrid, Garrett, Rayven and Rheis.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her son, Larry; her parents Elmore and Hulda; her sisters Virginia, Muriel and Eleanor; and her niece, Merrie Kay.
