Mark Patrick O’Byrne was born on April 19, 1975, to Thomas and Janet (Jones) O’Byrne in Albert Lea. He attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School and later obtained his associate degree. On Feb. 13, 1999, Mark was united in marriage to Nicole L. (Holst) in Glenville. Mark has two sons, Isaiah and Adam.

In his free time, Mark liked to play video games and attend video game conventions. He liked to teach kids how to play Dungeons and Dragons and was very skilled at it. Mark was a pet lover, especially cats. Mark was a caring and sweet person, who put everyone before himself. He took people in and got them back on their feet. He made people around him better than they were before they met. Mark loved his family and cherished his time together with his son, Isaiah. Mark always kept a calm demeanor, often telling everyone, “Everything is going to be OK,” even though it might not always seem that way.

Mark passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015. He was 40 years old. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nicole; and parents, Thomas and Janet.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Isaiah and Adam; sister, Jennifer O’Byrne; aunt, Cathy O’Byrne; Tanya Smith & Kristen Tilley; along with many other loving family and friends.
