With it’s highest scoring output of the season, the Albert Lea boys’ soccer team snapped Faribault’s three-game winning streak.

The Tigers (4-3-3, 2-2-2 Big Nine) shut out the Falcons (6-3, 3-3 Big Nine) 2-0 Tuesday at Jim Gustafson Field.

Senior Porfirio Garcia scored the Tigers’ first goal.

“He worked it up the middle with a couple of passes and made a nice shot,” said Albert Lea coach Bob Furland.

Senior Tyler Doran added the second goal of the game with a left-footed shot about 20 yards outside the goal.

The Falcons had five corner kicks, and had 10 shots on goal to the Tigers’ eight. Furland credited senior goalie Foster Otten.

“Foster played great in the game with many big saves,” he said.

Next, Albert Lea will play at 7 p.m. Thursday at Rochester Century (1-8, 1-4 Big Nine).
