ROCHESTER — A Rochester man is recovering from surgery after he was attacked by his own dog.

Police said the pit bull attacked her owner Saturday when he walked into the house. The man’s wife was able to pull the dog off the man after the animal attacked him for about five minutes.

According to a press release the dog was taken to an area shelter.
