Man injured in motorcycle crash near Bricelyn

BRICELYN — A Brush Creek man is listed in fair condition at St. Marys Hospital after a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon west of Bricelyn.

Collin Jacobson, 22, was riding a black Honda Shadow, heading west on Faribault County Road 2, east of 520th Avenue, when the bike reportedly ran off the road to the left and ended up in the ditch, according to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office. He was reportedly found lying in the south ditch next to a sign.

Jacobson was reportedly conscious and breathing when first responders arrived. He was placed on a backboard and taken inside the ambulance for assessment. He was transported via Mayo One to St. Marys Hospital with injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to Faribault County Sheriff Michael Gormley.

Jacobson was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Bricelyn Fire Department and Bricelyn ambulance crew assisted on scene.

 

Woman injured in crash

A Wells woman was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after a car crash Monday morning at the Freeborn and Faribault county line.

Amanda Silverthorn, 25, was reportedly driving a 2005 Ford Explorer when she lost control and ran off the roadway while heading east on Minnesota Highway 109, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Her injuries were deemed not life-threatening.

Silverthorn was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was reportedly not a factor in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

The vehicle reportedly sustained minor damage and was towed.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Wells ambulance service and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
