Marion Elaine Meyer, 86, of Albert Lea, formerly of Alden, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden, officiated by the Rev. Greg Ofsdahl. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Marion was born March 10, 1929, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Neary) Weston. She was baptized and confirmed on April 18, 1943, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Des Moines. She graduated high school and later went on to graduate from nursing school. She was united in marriage to Manville Meyer on Feb. 24, 1949, in Wells. She was a nurse for Dr. R.F. Schmidt, as well as a Freeborn County home healthcare nurse. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Marion was also a loving and devoted farm wife and mother.
Marion is survived by her four children: Katherine (Larry) Janssen, Linda (Thomas) Quinn, Thomas (Judy) Meyer and Paul “Moose” (Lori) Meyer; nine grandchildren: David Janssen, Thomas Janssen, Karmon Janssen, Alexander Meyer, Austin Meyer, Kelsey Meyer, Katelyn Meyer, Nathan Westland and Sara McGuire; four great-grandchildren: Brooke Janssen, Evelyn Janssen, Xavier Westland and Kinley McGuire; sister-in-law Burdella (William) Main; stepsister, Bonnie Urbain; seven nieces and nephews: Stewart Main, Roxanne Pulkrabek, Robert Main, James Main, David Wieslander, Ed Wieslander and Mina Mitchell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Marvin Rhoden; in-laws, William and Esther Meyer; husband, Manville; sister, Louise Wieslander; brother-in-law, Lloyd Wieslander; and nephew, Jerry Wieslander.
