A teenager was taken to the Albert Lea hospital Tuesday afternoon after her car struck a stop sign east of Wells and she went into the ditch.

Paris Pestinger, 17, of Easton, was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea to be checked out by a doctor.

According to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Pestinger told authorities the brakes on her 1999 Mercury Cougar locked up as she was going into the curve on 180th Street, while heading east near the intersection with 600th Avenue, causing her to lose control of her vehicle and strike a stop sign before skidding to a stop in the ditch.
