ST. PAUL — Federal prosecutors have charged an Eagan man with using fake social media profiles to solicit nude photos from teenage boys and then distribute them.
Thirty-two-year-old Anton Martynenko is charged with possessing, producing, receiving and advertising child pornography.
Prosecutors said Martynenko posed as a woman in social media accounts, contacting teens and young men with cover stories that he worked for a nude modeling agency or was new in town.
The charges said he escalated the exchanges into sexual conversations, sending nude photos of women whom he claimed to be and asking for nude photos in return.
Prosecutors said at least one boy cut off contact after becoming suspicious.
According to a press release, a search of Martynenko’s home turned up thousands of images of nude teenagers and young men.
