Shots fired

Six to seven gunshots were reported fired at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday in the downtown district. The area was searched. Police were unable to identify any more evidence as of presstime, according to Lt. Darren Hanson of the Albert Lea Police Department. No damage was reported.

 

Identity theft reported

A possible identity theft was reported at 8:21 a.m. Monday at 205 N. Central Ave. in Geneva. A credit union debit card reportedly had two charges in Roseville. The case is under investigation, according to Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag.

 

One arrested on local warrants

Albert Lea police arrested Jonathan Whelan, 32, on two local warrants at 7:04 p.m. Monday at 329 W. College St.

 

Property damaged

A door handle was reported broken at 12:56 a.m. Tuesday at 522 Grace St. The alleged victim said someone tried to open a deadbolt with a crowbar or a screwdriver.
