Break-in attempted

Two males were reported trying to break into a house at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday at 821 Water St. Entry wasn’t made, according to police.

 

1 arrested on warrant

Albert Lea police arrested Spencer Adam Edwards on a warrant at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday at Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center.

 

1 arrested for driving after cancellation

Police arrested Benita Velez, 26, for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation during a traffic stop at 12:51 a.m. Thursday at 815 S. Broadway. Velez was transported to the Freeborn County jail.

 

Fraud reported

Police received a report of someone who had random charges on a debit card at 12:03 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart. The alleged victim said he had completed a Walmart survey and then received a phone call saying he had won $100. He reported random charges totaling $8 after that.

 

Scam reported

A scam was reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday at 610 S. Broadway.

 

Bike stolen

A Trek fat tire bicycle was reported stolen from the front porch of a house at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday at 615 W. Clark St.
