1 injured in rollover

A Preston man was injured this morning in a rollover crash on Interstate 90 in eastern Freeborn County.

Roger J. Burke, 61, was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Burke was reportedly driving a Peterbilt semi tractor with an empty tanker trailer east on Interstate 90, a few miles east of the Oakland exit, when he lost control and slid into the south ditch shortly after 1 a.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Roads were icy at the time of the crash.

Damage to the semi and trailer was reported as severe.

The report stated Burke was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol wasn’t detected in his system.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Hayward Fire & Rescue assisted.
