Albert Lea resident wins $5K in lottery

According to a press release, Scott Sorenson of Albert Lea won $5,000 by playing the Big Money game. Sorenson claimed the prize Jan. 11. Marketplace Foods, 1619 W. Main in Albert Lea, sold the winning ticket.
Lottery players have won more than $6.3 billion. All Minnesotans are winners because $2.5 billion in proceeds have helped preserve, restore and protect Minnesota’s environment in each of the state’s 87 counties. Lottery proceeds also help fund state programs including education, public safety and health and human services.
