Albert Lea Mayor Vern Rasmussen Jr. announced Friday he will  start “Mayor Mondays,” beginning Feb. 1. He will be available the first Monday of every month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. He encouraged members of the community to come in and visit with him about any concerns, ideas or topics they may have.

The effort is another avenue the city is taking to engage more residents and obtain more feedback about city government and quality of life in Albert Lea.

“Our success as a community will depend on our ability to communicate about our challenges and assets,” Rasmussen said. “I look forward to conversations with the residents of Albert Lea.”
