Duane Juveland, 1947-2016

Duane Seth Juveland, 68, of Owatonna died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
He was born June 21, 1947, in Albert Lea, the son of Kermit and Darlene (Seath) Juveland.
Duane graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended a vocational-technical school. He married Brenda Scott June 29, 1968, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Following his marriage he worked at Northern Ordinance, Designware and OTC. For several years, he and his family traveled to arts and crafts shows with their business Dubre Designs. Duane worked as a machinist for Sheldahl in Northfield before working as a self-employed contractor under the Dubre Designs name for many years.
Duane was a member of Harvest Time Church in Faribault and a former member of Bethel Church in Owatonna. He engraved with a router the boards for the boardwalk at Village of Yesteryear and West Hills. He loved golfing and enjoyed his friendships with the seniors at Brooktree Golf Course.
Duane was a wonderful grandpa that loved going to his grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Juveland, of Owatonna; children Michelle (Tim) Brownewell of Owatonna and Jennifer Juveland of Owatonna; grandchildren Benjamin and Zachary; brothers Darryl (Paula) Juveland of Albert Lea and Glen (LeAnn) Juveland of Albert Lea; sisters Nancy (Tom) Haney of Ramsey and Sue (Del) Johnson of Albert Lea; brother-in-law, Craig Scott (Nancee) of Chesterfield, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will befrom 4 to 7 p.m. today at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.
