All States Ag Parts offers new, used and rebuilt parts for tractors, combines and other agricultural machinery.

The company hopes to have a soft opening at the warehouse in March, with an initial 19 employees, and as many as 30 to 35 employees by the end of the first year.

This is good news to see this building back in operation.

Between its two facilities in Lake Mills, Cummins used to employ 300 to 400 people before it moved those jobs to a plant in Mexico.

To the upcoming Iowa caucuses. thumb.up

We, along with the rest of the country, will have our eyes on Iowa Monday night for the results of the state’s caucuses. It has already been a long election season, and we are interested to see how this will affect the outcome of the election moving forward. Iowa is one of the first states to weigh in on the presidential candidates.

With Albert Lea being so close to Iowa, many of our residents have been able to travel south only 30 or 40 miles away to hear some of the candidates who stopped in Mason City and Clear Lake and a few even in some closer cities.

We plan on spending the evening in either Worth County or Winnebago County, and we look foward to observing the process.

To Lake Mills boys’ and girls’ basketball action.thumb.up

It was an exciting day on Friday for Lake Mills boys’ basketball player Granger Kingland, who broke the school’s career scoring record. The record was previously set by Andy Stensrud, who had broken the record of Maynard Stensrud. Kingland passed 1,000 career points earlier in the season.

The Lake Mills girls’ basketball team also should be congratulated for setting a new school record for points earned in one game. They beat Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 82-23. Three players on the team earned double-digit scores.

Nice job to all the players.
