MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota has been scheduled for a two-sport Big Ten doubleheader at Madison Square Garden in New York in two years.

The conference announced Wednesday that the Gophers men’s basketball team will play Ohio State before the Gophers men’s hockey team takes on Michigan State on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. The Big Ten men’s basketball tournament will also take place in the famed venue that year, two months later. The Gophers won the NIT on that floor in 2014.

Michigan and Penn State will play each other in basketball and hockey at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. In 2017, Wisconsin plays Rutgers in basketball and Ohio State in hockey.
