Hit-and-run crash reported
A hit-and-run crash was reported at 9:05 a.m. Monday at 806 Troy Road. The crash reportedly occurred between Thursday and Friday. Less than $1,000 in damage was reported. No suspects were reported. A red vehicle was identified as a possible suspect vehicle.
Police receive prank call about gunshot
A male caller stated he shot his dad in the head and he wasn’t breathing at 4:44 p.m. Monday at 2006 S.E. Marshall St. He said a gun was still in his hand, and he would shoot any officers that came to the house. No one was reportedly found at the residence. The phone call reportedly was a prank call.
Phone scam discovered
A phone scam was reported at 3:36 p.m. Monday at 2414 Larson Ave.
1 arrested on warrant
Albert Lea police arrested Christopher Lee Schmidt, 26, on a local warrant for assault at 5:22 a.m. today at Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Identity thefts reported
Someone on Clayton Avenue was reported as having used a Texas woman’s information at 3:34 p.m. Monday at 2326 Clayton Ave.
Credit card fraud was reported at 1:06 p.m. Monday at 1618 Elm St.
