Keep refugees in their homelands

Keeping refugees near their homeland, but out of danger, is the best option. The former director of the U.S. Committee for Refugees, Roger Winter, has estimated that a day’s worth of funding needed to resettle a single refugee in the U.S. would cover the needs of five refugees settled abroad. And if refugees are brought to the U.S., are they ever going home? I’ll wager very few. And I think few will have any skills that will get them anything other than a menial job, displacing an American who could really use the paycheck. See www.refugeeresettlementwatch, or they’ll be living on the dole.
