MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota man has been sentenced to eight months in the Hennepin County workhouse for fatally injuring his wife while he was drunk.

David Meder has also been given 10 years of probation for running over Diane Meder in the driveway of their Minnetonka Beach home after they returned from a restaurant in July 2014. Meder was found guilty of criminal vehicular operation.

His lawyer argued that Meder has no criminal record, has been remorseful and did not see his wife lying in the driveway when he pulled in.
