The Naeve Alumni and Nurses’ Club announced it will have eight scholarships available to area graduating seniors or persons who have successfully completed one year of education in a registered nurse program. Each of these scholarships are in the amount of $1,000.

Scholarships to be awarded are in memory of Jennie (Nelson) Haertel, Evelyn (Opdahl) Stadheim, Imogene (Johnson) Bradshaw, Betty (Sorenson) Kapplinger, Alive (Rhiger) Liane, Josephine English and two from the Naeve Alumni and Nurses’ Club.

According to a press release, applications can be obtained from school counselors, principals or by contacting Rosie Rasmussen at 507-377-3683 or email jrrassen@charter.net.

Factors to be considered by the scholarship committee are academics, community involvement and demonstrated leadership of the applicant.

All completed applications must be received by April 1 to be considered and processed.

Scholarships will be awarded at the club’s annual luncheon on May 7. The recipients will be expected to attend.
