MINNEAPOLIS — A teenager is charged with assaulting a school principal in north Minneapolis after the principal asked her to leave.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s office charged the 18-year-old in a juvenile petition with third-degree assault and fourth-degree assault of a school official. The student was a juvenile at the time of the Dec. 7 attack.
According to the petition, the girl was in the cafeteria at Harrison Education Center when the principal asked her to leave because the teen had been suspended and was not allowed at school.
The petition alleges the teen grabbed the principal by the hair, pulled her to the ground and punched her in the face several times. The principal suffered a concussion and has been unable to return to work.
